Anw... came to sch early this morning and while pops was getting his breakfast and me eating my peanutbutterbread...
I felt my ph vibrating....
But b4 I had the chance to take it out, it switched to a missed call...
Checked the no. and it's soooooo familiar...
Because it's the no. I've been waiting for for the past few days...
Called back with escalating excitement, and poppy was staring at me with anticipation as well...
"Yes yes definitely, sure, no problem, 14th June, OK!"
Twirls ard in joy~~~
(the last time I twirled ard in joy was when pops said his sinner's prayer and got baptised)
I was offered a job!! But I still have to go for medical check-ups b4 I can sign the appointment letter... So till then, I will only be Officially Offered, and not Officially Employed hahaa
When I was initially asked to go down for interview, I honestly had no idea when or what did I apply to :| I think I applied thru careers@gov... It's only during my 1st interview that I was told that the position wld be related to corporate development.
Midway thru, they told me that they have an internal position for HR and asked if I might be interested. U bet I jumped at the chance :)
The 2nd interview with them was great... there were 3 interviewers, but the atmosphere wasn't tense or anxiety-provoking at all...
They were very friendly and polite when asking questions and eventually, it became more like a conversation b/w 4 ppl rather than an interview... we were laughing and cracking little jokes and I find that I cld answer their qns honestly and comfortably.. altho at one pt I was squirming in awkwardness when they asked me whether I'd like to "contribute" to the event organizing part for the organisation with my hiphop experience. O_O
That apart, I'm surprised to say I actually enjoyed the interview session :) I think it's impt for interviewees to feel at ease during interview because the main pt of the interview (at recruitment) is not to scare them off or see how well they perform under extreme stress, but what's their disposition like, how well can they fit into the org culture and generally do they have the ability to perform in their jobs and whether they have the attitude to get them far.
Will be working in the field of HR for a gov sector (not sure if I sld say the name here, in case someone google and find this haha). I guess HR is somewhat the closest thing I can get to psych related jobs (when I cant further my studies in psych yet) because there will still be interpersonal interactions (and it's not in the form of sales or customer svs) and the HR manager also told me that at times, we have to act as "Aunt Agony" to listen to the problems that the staff might face. Sounds good to me :)
And from what I hear during the interview, I really like the company culture... They seemed to be aiming towards even more holistic, uniform and validated way of HR practice. Hopefully Organisational Psych can come in useful here :))
They even asked me which area I wld like to contribute to their community service involvement and I told them mental health :) I hope I get to do it!!
Ok... i intended this post to be a really short one. But it has turned out to be one of my usual long-winded descriptive essays again. dammit.
My whole pt here is.... I really want to thank God for giving me His wonderful blessings that I'm able to stay calm and collected during the interviews to give the best side of me to the interviewers :) Also to thank him for helping me stay faithful and certain that whatever happened, even the initial rejection from T* was part of his amazing plan (my future workplace will be just 4 mrt stns away!) He has taught me how to commit all my worries to Him and simply trust Him and just give my best to all the opportunities that He has given me. Right now, I just hope that everything goes well until I sign the appointment letter :)
Thank u so much also to my ex-colleagues who had helped me a great deal and friends and churhies who prayed for me :) I really feel God's peace and blessings... thanks so much guys!!
And pls pray for XW as he goes for his interview tmr morning... :) :) :)
