Shano's Wedding

Joyous occasions like weddings are also great time for family and friends reunion :)
Went for Pop's cousin's wedding today at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.
I dun really know her very well, but I think she looked beautiful in her bright yellow toga gown. Reminds me of Dahling's gown at star awards :)))
Nonetheless, had an awesome time with pop's family and relatives.
2 more of his cousins are getting married this yr, one in Oct and the other in Dec, lovely!

And of coz, weddings are great occasions to doll up and cam-whore ;)

I loveeee the shoes that I bought at Primark, it's sooooo comfy!!

Still soaked in the bliss and sweetness of wedding bells :)

I think I'll be using this mug soon coz it's just too cute :)

Too much time to spare at home, but too lazy to move the stuff away from the bkgrd :X

Anw, I'm finally meeting the girls tmr, YEAHHHH!!!
gdnightall :)

Spirit of Europe - a mth of adventures

This past mth had been an amazing amazing experience for me. There were good times, not so good ones and a number of 1st times :) It's impossible to note down all the details and describe exactly how the trip went, so I've decided to give most of the details a miss and just write down a couple of lists to sum up the trip :)

1st Time Experiences:
1) Fitting all my stuff into a BACKPACK

2) Sharing a room with 8 other strangers (whr I met a really nice Korean-Brazilian girl who lent me her hairdryer)

3) Being away from home for a good 31 DAYS

4) Staying in hostels and campsites (more like chalet really)

5) Experience a hail storm (albeit a really short one like for a minute haha)

6) Watching a Cabaret show

7) Watching a LIVE sex show

8) Catching a West-end musical

9) Doing laundry (with the help of big, money-eating washing machines)

10) Wore denim shorts with leggings :(

Top 5 Most Memorable Experiences:
1) The out-of-body experience after taking space cake (ask me abt it if u find it interesting, I have so much to say!)

2) Waking up to breath-taking view of the swiss alps right at my doorstep in Lauterbrunnen

3) Bin-Bag party, which includes wearing the bin bag to dinner at a restaurant, having drinks at the bar and finally, clubbing at the discotheque

4) Clubbing at a 5-storey discotheque in Prague

5) Rushing for the plane with 90% chance that we were going to miss it (it was half hr past the stated check in time when we reach the airport, not to mention we haven done our tax redemption yet)

Top 5 Highlights of the Trip:
1) Seeing Eiffie :))))) (I have at least 100 shots of Eiffie from different angles!)

2) Switzerland. omg.

3) Pretty Venice and the gorgeous Venician masks

4) Auschwitz-Berkinau Tour in Poland

5) PRIMARK. woohoooo!

Top 5 Things that I Regretted Not Doing:
1) SKY DIVE in Switzerland!!! But it costs S$800++ :( I can get mum an LV wallet with that money... BUT I REALLY WANTED TO DO IT :((((((

2) Having MORE gelato in Italia

3) Buying more souveniers

4) Getting the pretty key chain in Paris

5) Buying more stuff in London

Home Sweet Home

I'm feeling awake at 2am, definite sign of jetlag coz I've been slping b4 1am for the past mth.
It's weird to be back home coz the past mth felt like it never really happened, it was like a dream!
Thank God I have pictures to assure and remind myself of the amazing experience, which I will share with u guys, promise :)

I do miss home, but I miss Europe even b4 I left.
I wanna go back again, there are so much more to see and explore and learn. But of coz, not so soon - no time, no money haha

I'll have a one week break b4 work officially begins for me, so here's a to-do list just to help ease myself out of the holiday mood I've been indulging in:

1) Unpack
2) Upload photos into laptop
3) Upload photos into FB
4) Do a short blog on the trip
5) Clean-up the room
6) FILE FOR GRADUATION (just check that it's done)
7) rest
8) catch up with everyone!!! (that'll take some time)
9) start reading Change Your Habits, Change Your Life
10) last minute shopping for things I might need for work (not really but it's a good excuse)

And to ppl whom I did not get a gift for, I'm so terribly sorry... I was time and space strapped (I had to buy a luggage when I returned to London just so I can go shopping and buy some stuff back)

And I just have to add this:
I think pops had done a fantabulous job taking care of me throughout the trip :)

Updates!!

Waiting for the boys to be done with their showers and we can discuss what to do tmr for our free day in Budapest.
So I'm here making full use of the free wifi to do some updates :)
The tour has been great so far. Totally not like the normal tour that I've been to with my parents, full of old ppl and boring adults (snorts). Just imagine a bus full of 35 young ppl aged 18-30, with the majority being Aussies. It's parties and drinks and lame jokes everyday! And we eat drink and party with both our trip leader and the driver :)
We have a special (and increasingly irritating) German pop song as wake up song everytime reach a stopover, random theme parties every wk (bin bag party, bed sheet toga party, Eurotrash party), a flourescent vest for donkey of the day and an uber cute trip tee that we all designed tgt hoho. It's really a very very interesting experience thus far :)
After the brief warmth and sunshine in Italy, we're back to rain and low low temp in Eastern Europe.
Time to bring out my thick jacket again...
Just checked my results this morning, expected results which means it's alright :)

Gosh I'm so sleepy now zzz....

Transiting in Progress

Waiting for our connecting flight at Dubai now. Super busy airport, 5am in the morning and it's already bustling with activities.
Flew by the new 777 and it's definitely better than the usual 747. But I dare say SQ is better at maintaining their planes :P
Had a light breakie at the airport, going to sit down s'whr for some last min planning for our London stint.
Looking forward to arriving at Gatwick!! But hope I get some slp on board. I think I will, I'm an "easy sleeper" :)

Till the next wifi spot, cya!!

I'll wake up in London :)

Pops came over to help me complete the almost impossible task of packing last aftnn.
Managed to squeeze the a load of 11KG into the backpack.
Now I've got no space but 20 more KG to spare when I come back...

Today I'm spending the final few hrs of free time to do another form of packing: my iTouch.
I'm clearing some useless apps to make way for new ones and downloading tons of ebooks and 女人我最大 episodes :)

iTunes has apps for ANYTHING really. saving up so much space for my bag coz I dun need to physically carry a journal, money tracker, calculator/ currency converter, itinerary, maps, packing/ to-do lists, mp3 player, video player, guidebooks and story books!

Speaking of guidebooks, I just realised that LonelyPlanet apps cost USD5.99 each and I downloaded close to 10 of them when it was free :X so happpieeee

The problem now is I dunno if I sld d/l more apps for our free days in London coz there are so many ard :\

Couple more things to settle and hopefully we get to watch Iron Man II b4 we leave :)
And pray pray pray that our flight will not be affected!!

To all who are leaving for their trips soon:
Deon - Korea
Dardar - Aussie
Garvin - US
Xue Mei and Wai Kei - Hong Kong

Wish you guys Bon Voyage in advance and have tonnnnnnsssss of FUN!! :)

Packing.

Actually it's "going to pack".
XH just sent me a "packing list" and I'm filling up the list with wad I need and all.
I have no freaking idea how to squeeze 1 mth worth of stuff into the backpack (yeah u heard me, BACKPACK)... But I'm gonna try -_-

SO far so good, nth much that I need to buy, seem to have most of the stuff I need at home alrdy.
Clothes wise, have to try tmr b4 deciding wad to bring there exactly.
Lots of tights and leggings for sure.
And jackets.
Things I dun always wear in Sg :)
**But I'll still bring my denim shorts hahaa**

Couple of errands to run tmr afternoon, so I better wake up early to pack :\
And I've got no time to upload the tons of photos I have, so I uploaded them all in one combined album on FB.

And me and Poppy still wanna catch Ironman b4 we leave coz Emirates dun have it on their in-flight entertainment!! :(

Actually, I'm more excited than I sound abt the trip, I'm just overwhelmed by the preparation and packing and the lack of time I have for them despite the fact that I've already finished my exams.

Talking abt packed, here's our itinerary!!

14-17May: London
18-19: Paris
20-21: Switz
22-23: French Rivera
24: Florence
25-26: Rome
27-28: Venice
29-30: Vienna
31-1June: Budapest, Hungary
2-3: Krakow, Poland
4-5: Prague
6-7: Berlin, Germany
8-9: Amsterdam
10-12: London

I feel excited already!!!!! I can't wait, but ironically, I hope it's not so soon so I have more time to prepare properly for it.
Ok, I take back my words.
Just in case the flights really get delayed due to the irritating volcano at Iceland.
CHOYYYY!

Pls pray for us!!
:)

Offically EMPLOYED :)

Went to sign my apptmt letter today.
And dat was not the best part of it!

1) The HR lady was really really nice. She asked me abt my KS bag the 1st thing I sat down hahaa
2) They upped my salary during the provisional period :D
3) Aft probation period, I will be a perm staff, not 2-years contract as I thot initially
4) I was supposed to start work the VERY next day aft I touched down, but upon hearing where I'm gng and the time dat I'll be arriving in Sg, the lady FORBIDDED me to go to work on 14th. "You MUST rest for a week."
5) I made a new fren coz another girl went to sign her apptmt letter abt the same time as me. Diff dept but it was nice coz we went thru the medical check-up tgt :)))

I dunno what the work env will be like and I dunno if I'll be buried in a mountain of workload when I start working, but I can say I'm really really blessed with this opp as far as I'm concerned. And it's super amazing coz I was just telling giant I have to start work the day I return to sg and we were discussing wad a stupid idea of mine it was to tell them I can start working on the 14th. I prayed abt it last night and viola! Nth escapes God's perfect plan :)

Anw I went to Newlook again today (familiar changing room haha) and bought another dress and a pair of pumps. Newlook is seriously draining my money away :(

Met pops and his frens whom we'll be travelling tgt with in Europe.
Nice bunch!! And his frens like to shop lah I likeeee! hahaha
"aiya go until dere already, of coz must buy mah.... where is the shopping district huh?"
sounds like my mum lah :)

Met pops aft dat for LATE lunch at 4pm, aft the check-up...

I left hm early to take instant photos to pass to the HR today, and b4 dat I had to send in a soft copy, so I sent in one that pops took for me. During the signing of the apptmt letter, we took 15 mins to decide which photo shld I put on my staff pass... in the end we chose the one that pops took for me coz she thinks I look pwetty inside zzz

Gave dinner at Goodwoodpark with pops and his fam a miss and met mum for SHOPPING in the eveng instead hohoho..
Pops called to tell me abt the VERY NICE durian puff. shat, it's GWP's durian fest again -_-
But I wanted to spend more time with mum coz I'll be leaving next week for A MONTH... I'm gng to miss herrrrr :(
We had a good long chat during supper, eating KFC buddy meal hahaha I love my mum :)
I think we're both ppl who are worried abt getting fat but cant be bothered with trying to slim down...

And so it seems like everythings all good and well today yeah?
No it's not.
Coz I'm acting like I've finished my exams, even have time to blog and reply FB messages.
When I still have ONE more paper on Fri which I have not touched A SINGLE BIT.
argh!
And now I panic :((((

My best group paper

Not that I've done many grp papers in my course, but I'm really proud of this particular one:

GRADE: A+

REMARKS: In general, the paper was very well-written. It was comprehensive yet concise, organized, and the arguments followed in a logical fashion with support from empirical findings. Sufficient background was provided in the introduction. In particular, it was a good move to delineate the parameters of PS for your paper. Your proposal to consider PS on a dimensional approach was quite persuasive and was tied in nicely to your previous discussion on the different conceptualizations of PS (i.e., addiction, ICD, OCD) and potential etiological factors. The consideration given to online shopping in the section on Future Directions was both thoughtful and realistic. Overall, a very commendable effort! Excellent work!

It's not just the good grades for the paper, it's also abt getting to know 3 awesome new frens from the grp, the happy times we spent tgt chionging the proj, YIH, Tumblr, facebook photos, SMU, MS's bday celebration, our fantastic Shopping Addiction presentation :X and XLBBB!!

So thankful to have taken this module and met them :)

*now back to reality of memorising HISTORY. I hate the sound of it :(
